Bio:
For 25 years Larry Mendte has been working in
broadcasting in San Diego, Chicago, New York, Los Angeles and currently in
his hometown in Philadelphia. In San Diego he wrote and directed comedy
reports that aired nationally on "Hard Copy" and earned him a
dozen local Emmys.
In Chicago Mendte wrote and produced long form investigative reports that
resulted in two new state laws and earned him the title "Best Reporter
in Illinois" from the Associated Press.
In
Philadelphia, after winning 30 Emmys for a variety of stories and programs,
Mendte wrote and directed two short documentaries on two Philadelphia
heroes. "Benjamin Franklin: Stealing Lightning From The Sky,"
earned Mendte the title of "Best Pennsylvania Film Maker" at the
West Chester Film Festival. "Alex Scott: A
Stand For Hope" won "Best Documentary" at the festival.
Larry
Mendte is the main anchor at KYW, the CBS owned station in Philadelphia.
