Feature
Length
While
on Earth for a little R&R, an alien hoodlum meets a girl running away
from the circus, and learns that there are some things worth dying for.
Synopsis:
After
a heist on a medieval planet almost costs them their lives, three mobsters
go to a run-down circus town on little backwater called Earth for some
R&R.
While their adopted mother Dora goes on a depraved quest to recruit a new
member into the “family,” the two young men in the gang have their own
grave adventures. Benji follows a path that darkly parallels that of Dorothy
in Oz, and learns about true loss in the process. Philip, his younger
brother, has encounters with a girl running away from the circus, her
violent strong man father, a priest with an edge, and an old woman who is
much more than she appears to be, and as a result begins to question his
values and the stories he was raised with.
In the end, the two young men confront Dora. The outcome will determine the
fate of the new recruit, the Earth, and the greater struggle between forces
of darkness and light in the universe.

Bio:
After taking degrees in science, liberal arts and business, Jean-François
Chénier worked in research for 10 years, where he got to build and play
with many cool toys. In the spirit of the pioneers, and for no good reason,
he then decided to head west, but overshot his goal and ended up in the far
east. He currently lives in Tokyo with his wife and two cats, where he
manages deployment communications for IBM in Asia Pacific. Due to the rising
cost of cat toys, he has decided to try and turn a lifelong passion for
writing fiction into a paying gig.
