The Projectionist

Author: Corey Borenstein & Katherine Wutz

Feature Length

Synopsis:

Police detective Bill Niman has just been assigned the strangest case of his career. A murder case has just been blown back open and it is up to Niman to finally solve a mystery which has haunted the local theater for sixty years. Helping Niman are his colleagues, zealous Leah Tilton and professionally detached Marti Adams. Also trying to help is the new spot-light technician and doctoral candidate, Chris Lenard, who has started to see some strange things up in the projection booth. Jack Paine, a local reporter with a personal interest in the investigation, eagerly adds his often unsolicited two cents. As odd occurrences escalate at the theater, Niman realizes more might be at stake than bringing closure to an unsolved case.

Scriptwriter Bio:

Corey Fabian Borenstein is a senior at Smith College who enjoys baking celebratory cakes for occasions just like this. She currently works at the Smith College Archives and spends her increasingly rare spare time reading about obscure historical figures and catching up on her movie viewing. She divides her time between Buffalo , New York City and Smith College . The Projectionist is her first feature-length screenplay and she looks forward to completing many more.

Katherine Wutz is a senior at Canisius College who enjoys over-seeing the celebratory cake baking. She spends her time amassing a gigantic pile of books to read which she’ll invariably trip over forty-two times before she actually gets around to reading them. She currently resides in what she affectionately calls “The Buffalo Office,” which is actually a small dorm room on the outskirts of the city. The Projectionist is also her first and favorite feature-length screenplay.
