Pilot presentation for a potential premium cable series set in Brooklyn. Stephen is a struggling actor and reluctant homosexual. When he starts losing his straight best pals to marriage, he's got to learn to stand on his own and become comfortable in his own gay skin.

In this episode, Stephen endures a humiliating hookup with a cutie known as Paul the Hot Irishman. When Paul tries to relax a nervous Stephen with marijuana, Stephen starts spouting paranoid non-sequitors. To make matters worse, a case of cottonmouth causes Stephen's tongue to get stuck on a certain condom-covered part of Paul's anatomy.

Later, Stephen is crushed to discover that as one of his pal Patrick's best men at his wedding, he will have to have a date, as the entire wedding party will be seated up front with their significant others. Doubly determined not to die alone, Stephen dusts off his online dating profile.

First up on the dating block is Jim, a tall hottie too good to be true-- Just like Stephen, he loves beer and loves football. Score! When Stephen reveals that he has no intention of adopting children, Jim drops him.

Dejected, Stephen heads down to the subway where he matches wits with The F Train Messiah, a seedy poet who may or may not be a figment of Stephen's imagination. The Messiah calls Stephen out on his shallowness and preps him for his next date, a lonely nebbish named Mark, who will change Stephen's outlook forever.
