Conflicted
Written
by: Kimberly Sanders
A forty year old, devout
Christian’s life is forever changed when she learns her best
friend and lesbian, Kenyatta Taylor, is terminally ill. Mary
Jones is the epitome of a virtuous woman and could probably
count the sins she’s committed in her lifetime on one hand,
however, after her best friend is diagnosed with terminal
cancer, Mary begins to question the very religion in which
she’s so grounded. For a lifetime, Mary has repressed her love
for Kenyatta and led her life as the Bible instructs, now she
believes she must act on her hidden feelings before it’s too
late. For a chance at true happiness, she’ll have to turn her
back on not only her family but her beliefs.

DENISE SANDERS
Always
having a passion for telling wonderful thought provoking
stories, I started my writing career well before I had a true
grasp of what the entertainment industry really was. Foregoing
my dream of
becoming a writer/filmmaker, I completed both my BA and MBA in
Finance and went on to begin a career in corporate
entertainment. It was not until my life was struck with the
tragic death of my grandmother, did I return and vow to make a
valiant effort at realizing my dream of writing and making
films. Working with such well-known studios as, The Walt Disney
Company, Warner Bros, Paramount and Universal, I was able to
learn first hand what the industry considered “greenlightable”.
Thusly, I took the knowledge that I had garnered and in the late
memory of my grandmother, Mossie Lee Williams, I opened
Kudiville Films. Since its inception, I have diligently penned
over 20 stories and as a result, the company has produced two
shorts films (Traces of Tragedy and Pick), currently has 2 feature films in the
development/pre-production phase and a company slate which
includes 12 features, 4 pilots and 2 animated series.
Subsequently, as a way of giving back and fostering the
filmmakers of tomorrow, I created the non-profit organization
Filmmakers & Entertainers Helping Enhance School Arts, (F.E.H.E.S.A.).
The organization works with school districts nationwide to help
retain and enhance art programs throughout grades K-12.
