Chroma
Category:
Documentary Short 17min 4sec
Director: Carrie Schultz
Synesthesia is a
little-known neurological phenomenon in which one type of
sensory stimulation evokes the sensation of another. In simple
terms, it is when two or more senses get their ‘wires
crossed’. Chromasthesia is the specific name for Colored-Sound
Synesthesia.
CHROMA interviews three women with Synesthesia, and presents
visual interpretations of the imagery they describe. Since the
most common types of Synesthesia involve seeing colors as a
secondary sensory response (ie. seeing letters and numbers in
color, sound or music in color, taste or smell in color, etc.),
this documentary is entitled 'CHROMA' to represent the colors
that are an integral part of synesthetes’ daily lives. Do you
see what they see?
