Based on an
excerpt of the award-winning play, White Biting Dog, by Judith
Thompson, Pony, is the story of a young woman who commits a
drastic act in the hopes of saving her emotionally dysfunctional
lover. While contemplating what she’s done, she travels back
to her father’s movie theatre in Kirkland Lake to say goodbye.
The film features a beautiful performance by Karyn Dwyer, star
of the hit Indie film Better Than Chocolate.

Ed Gass-Donnelly is Canadian film and theatre director. Last
year he began making the transition from theatre to film with
four short films, Pony being his first. His second film,
Polished, recently won Best Short Film and Best Actor (William
B. Davis, “The Cigarette Smoking Man” from The X-Files) at
The Nickel Film and Video Festival in Newfoundland . His other
films are Dying Like Ophelia and Empty. Ed’s next film, Pink,
goes into production in September 2002.
