Runaway Poles

Runaway Poles is a comedy about a man who talks to imaginary people. Poles Mobley is a lonely man wandering around a small town talking to imaginary people. Some of the local townspeople have accepted Poles introducing his make-believe friends to them. One day, while sitting at a park bench talking to one of his imaginary friends, Poles meets a real woman named Malley Hopper. Poles is very nervous and shy toward Malley at first, but soon feels non threatened by her presence and becomes friends with her. Little does Poles know, Malley Hopper is a journalist for the local newspaper and is secretly following Poles around to get an interesting story for her paper. We soon learn that Malley is married to an unfaithful husband named Brad who is having an affair. We also meet Poles next door neighbor Simon, a depressed giant who loses his job. Simon has learned to accept Poles’ imaginary people as factual. Same with another friend of Poles’, Mr. Litvack is an African-American cowboy who believes he’s God’s gift to women.  At the end of the story, we discover why Poles talks to imaginary people.
