Sylvester
Category:
Narrative Short 23min
Director: Kevin Molony
One dreadful rainy
night a couple flee into the darkness and crash their car. The
woman passenger is heavily pregnant. In the hospital a
showdown erupts between the injured driver, a Circus
Ringmaster, and two other circus members - Imo the strongman and
Gerard the trapeze artist, both claiming to be the father. The
casualty ward takes on the air and solemnity of the confessional
and courtroom as each bear witness to their claim to be the true
father. And so we come to hear how each one of them were
magically seduced by the woman, a Mermaid underwater
escapologist act, all on the same night -New year's eve. The
night of the Sylvester gala performance. However it is the
newly born infant that holds the final surprise and the true
magnitude of the fateful Sylvester night comes into clearer
focus.
