Still Life
Category: Narrative Short 20mins
Director: Quan Hoang
The career of still life painter,
Ray Riley, is finally about to take off. In a few
hours, he and his girlfriend, Constance, will fly to
Paris where his artwork will be featured in a
career-making exhibit. But something strange is
happening to Ray. Every time his watch alarm beeps,
he sees the image of a swinging chain and a decrepit
window. But he chooses to ignore it by visiting two
friends: Jimmy, a pensive boy struggling to develop
his artistic vision; and Carl, an elderly man, who
reveals his fond memories as a successful artist.
But the images grow more intense, until Ray is left
with only one option: Before he and Constance leave
for fame and fortune, he must confront a dark secret
that could destroy his entire art career and maybe
more.
