Twitch

Category: Narrative Short 10 min: 00 sec
Director: Leah Meyerhoff

'Twitch' portrays a young girl who has a conflicted and emotionally charged relationship with her disabled mother. Irrationally fearful that her mother's disability is contagious, she attempts to suffocate any possibility of illness. She holds her breath when helping put on her mother's nylons, wraps all the food in the refrigerator in plastic, and visits the gynecologist complaining that her legs twitch. Her boyfriend, oblivious to her increasing hypochondria, only seems interested in her physically. Ultimately, she must learn to confront her fears and take care of herself.
