Hate Preachers

Hate preachers for too long have been fostering hate crimes. This animated short takes a look at their destructive rhetoric and encourages all of us to speak out to offset these fabrications. Reasonable people must stand up and show that we are not intimidated by their bullying or we will find ourselves living in a world of their making. Purpose and Process Statement: After hearing so many bizarre pronouncements from preachers of every persuasion I was inspired to create this animation. The subject matter was down and dirty, and the crude clay style seemed to lend itself to exposing these grotesque characters, each one of whom ends up destroying themselves by their hateful rhetoric. The experience was quite cathartic for the animator and without literally harming anyone I was able to release my anger. At the same time there are some very beautiful and proactive scenes. When the children try to find their way towards love and when the congregation gets up off their knees to refute the preachers, I am especially glad that I made this short.
