When a famed puppeteer gets a disturbing phone call from his fiance he rushes home to see what's the matter. Upon arriving he learns that a guest bedroom light has mysteriously been turned on. While questioning his fiance's memory of the day the bedroom light suddenly goes out. The two decide to investigate. After a brief search they realize that it is simply a bad light bulb, burnt out. How wrong they are. After retiring for the evening they are quickly attacked and gassed by an intruder. They awaken to find themselves strung up in a life size puppet contraption, made of wire cables and pullies. The intruder begins to methodically torture the two, both psychologically and physically. However, as things take a turn for the worse, the question of who's really pulling the strings begs to be asked.
