A First Norooz

Category: Animation 30 min: 00 sec
Director: Dustin Ellis

A heartwarming and funny animation movie about an Iranian boy growing up in America, caught between cultures. With the help of his family and mythological Persian characters, the boy learns to appreciate his Persian roots just in time for Norooz (the Persian New Year). Movie uses the voice-overs of Oscar nominee Shohreh Aghdashloo (House of Sand and Fog), CBS star Catherine Bell (J.A.G.) and two icons of Persian cinema, Parviz Sayyad and Ali Pourtash. The movie also features original songs by Persian pop stars Andy and Aris. Set to classical Persian music, and recorded in both English and Farsi, this non-political and non-religious movie teaches non-Iranians about Persian culture and Iranian children to be Persian and Proud.
