The Gnat And The Lion
Category: Animation 03 min: 49 sec
Director: Burke Higgins
Burke Higgins and Tony Prohl are proud to announce their first independent CGI short film, 'The Gnat and the Lion.' The art design is drawn from the inspiration of stop motion puppetry while the storytelling remains loyal to the appeal of Saturday morning cartoons. All of the elements of 'The Gnat and the Lion' capture the lush atmosphere of a hot, lazy afternoon deep in the heart of Africa. The story follows a high spirited Gnat on his quest to humiliate the King of Beasts. Unsuspecting, the Lion is rudely forced into a tormented situation where he must fight to regain his right to have a quiet afternoon nap. The peaceful African landscape uproars into a chaotic battlefield where the characters perform their raucous showdown. After his pursuits, the Gnat quickly discovers a shattered pride is the worst possible fate for an obnoxious little bug. The characters' dynamic personalities and quirky antics promise to place a comedic spin on the classic Aesop fable. Together, Burke and Tony utilized their artistic talents, personal resources and love for animation to create this fun lighthearted story.
