Deep in the ancient forest lives a family of lizards who care for all living things. Makawee, the Clan Mother, plants the magic seeds. Tatanka, the Father Chief, dances for the Winged People, causing the heavens to weep with excitement. Yahzi, the Chief's Son, is in charge of soothing the mighty thunder in order for the sun to set. One night Yahzi comes home to find his father about to die. For life to continue in the forest, Yahzi must find Wakahn, the Master of the Winged People to learn the rhythm of the mighty rain.
