2006 Films • 2006 Film Festival Sunny Slope Director- Chris Fields Eric and Greg are holed-up in an apartment. Eric's wife has thrown him out and is filing for divorce. They're smoking and drinking. The doorbell rings. Greg scurries to the door and looks through the peephole. It's the prostitute they've called. Greg refuses to let her in. Eric tries to sneak a peak—Greg doesn't let him. She leaves. Greg mutters about how unattractive and overpriced she was. Eric is upset that he didn't get a chance to judge for himself and insists that Greg call again. They call a different agency for a new girl. Greg hides on the street, waiting to get a look at her, only she scoots by and Eric lets her in. She is stunning. Greg comes back. Her beauty mesmerizes them both. She asks them if they are ready. Neither one is able to form a sentence. Put off, she leaves. Greg is irate that Eric let her in; Eric violated their game's number one rule: you call them but you never let them in. Eric wonders what an even more expensive girl would look like. He calls and asks for two women. They walk to the liquor store. They return and sit on the stoop, drinking beer and eating Twinkies. They take some drugs. They trash the apartment gleefully. Their abandon subsides. They sit slumped on the floor. The doorbell rings. They rush to the window to spot the women. Nothing. Greg heads downstairs. He saunters past the women. He returns dejected. He tells Eric that they were plain. Furious, Eric goes downstairs and confronts them. Things turn ugly. Their driver beats Eric senseless. Upstairs, Greg tends to Eric's wounds. Eric is hopeless and lost. Eric weeps while Greg holds him. Christopher Shaw - Lead Actor |
