Confederate Pennsylvania

Director- Neil Bhaerman
Category- Documentary Short
RT-4m 22s

What inspires Northerners to display the Confederate flag in front of their houses? Is it conscious or subconscious racism, a desire to rebel against governmental intrusion, or just out of love for Lynyrd Skynyrd?  Confederate Pennsylvania examines this question through interviews with six residents of suburban Pittsburgh, who all chooses to display the Stars and Bars, despite living north of the Mason-Dixon Line.  This short documentary was made to allow supporters of the Confederate flag to express their opinions and beliefs in their own words. While some may disagree with the effect of their actions, the sincerity behind their intent is surprising and powerful.
